A Simple Tribute: Chua Guan Eng

  We know there once lived a man named Chua Guan Eng, who died on the 24th April, 1940 aged 40. And that is all we would have known if not for the loving tribute of the inscription on his tomb.     And today, we know Chua Guan Eng’s tomb is staked (912) and will have to make way for the highway.

“The Letter”

  A letter in Romanized Hokkien , or Pe̍h-ōe-jī as it is known,  on display at the exhibition Our Roots, Our Future,  piqued the interest of many. But no one could fully decipher its meaning.
